Acupuncture

The oldest continually practiced medicine in the world, acupuncture promotes our natural, innate ability to improve bodily functions and reduce or relieve pain. Hair thin needles, a warming herb called “moxa”, and pressure at specific points allow the ch’i, or vital energy, to move freely. Deep relaxation and increased vigor often follow.

Acupuncturists determine which organ systems are weak or over strung by feeling the pulse and observing other physical signs. We help prevent illness and support well-being by balancing ch’i before symptoms appear. We also relieve pain and encourage lifestyle changes to sustain relief and keep the ch’i in balance.

Many clients ask if acupuncture can help specific conditions. An NIH panel in November 1997 declared acupuncture an effective treatment for postoperative and chemotherapy nausea and vomiting, nausea of pregnancy, and postoperative dental pain.
